Senior Lecturer at the University of Granada, she is the author of the research monographs Artes de canto en el mundo ibérico renacentista (2014), Alan Lomax and Jeanette Bell in Spain (1952-1953): las grabaciones de música folclórica (2021), Women in convent spaces and the music networks of early modern Barcelona (2023), and Música y discapacidad en el mundo hispánico del siglo XVI: el organista y compositor Antonio de Cabezón (2024), among others, and has published a number of essays on convent music, music in early modern urban ceremonies, and Spanish folk music. Among the research prizes that she has obtained, the Early Music’s 2012 J. M. Thomson Prize and the Musicology Prize granted by the Sociedad Española de Musicología in 2013 should be highlighted. She has recently been distinguished as a permanent member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Granada.
