Montserrat Torrent dedicates her time to performance and teaching as an associate professor emeritus at the Conservatorio Superior Municipal de Música de Barcelona and as professor at the university level of international Musica en Santiago de Compostela, and another cities.

 

She has given Master Classes throughout Europe and the United States and has been invited to judge competitions at both the national and international level at Nuremberg, Chartres, Lausanne, Avila, Bolton, etc.. As performer she has appeared throughout Spain, as well as in majority of European countries, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Argentina, Uruguay, North Africa, etc.

 

She has recorded on a number of historic organs and has been awarded with the French "Gran Prix du Disque" of Paris for her recording works by Cabanilles on the organ of Daroca.

 

She has been decorated, by the Generalitat de Catalunya government’s, with the “Creu de Sant Jordi” (St. George Cross’s) and grant her the “Premi Nacional de Música, 1996” (National Award of Music, 1996). The Spanish government of Madrid confer her the “Medalla de Plata al Mérito en las Bellas Artes” (Silver’s Medal to the Merit in the Fine Arts). And, recently, the municipal government of Barcelona grant her the “Medalla de Oro al Mérito Artístico” (Gold’s Medal to the Artistic Merit).
